Our Services

The goal of all therapeutic services in psychotherapy is to ensure that all four phases of therapy are completed in the therapeutic process; patient-therapist encounter, early therapy, height of treatment, and evidence of change and termination.

Individual Therapy

We provide comprehensive, trauma-informed counseling services to children, adults, and families. Our counseling services are designed to help you or someone you know face the problems of daily life and find solutions to those problems.

Our goal is not to change you but to give you the tools you need to change yourself!

Family Therapy

Family therapy uses psychotherapeutic interventions that specifically focus on improving the interactions between or among family members. It's designed to improve the function of the family as a unit, its subsystems, and the individual members of the family.

Family therapy is meant to heal rifts between parents and their children, parent relations with their children, and between the couple members by increasing communication with one another and improving their coping.

Group Therapy

Group therapy can help patients learn from others with similar experiences, act as a sounding board, as well as promote social skills and empathy. Our counseling services are designed to help you or someone you know face the problems of daily life and find solutions to those problems.

Married and Couple
Therapy

The goal of marriage and couples’ therapy is to address partner relationship problems that are causing emotional distress and dysfunction within the relationship. Then to promote levels of well-being for both partners together and as individuals.

Spanish Outreach
Servicios En Español

We provide families, children, and individuals with professional psychotherapy services through an individual or group platform.  We love collaboration with other agencies and institutions that are already serving the Latino community as an integrated approach to helping our Latino Families.

Assessments

Patients who come to TMTG for the treatment have an array of mental health symptoms. These concerns can stem directly from their substance use or may be related to other co-occurring disorders like depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. Additionally, other pre-existing factors may be unrelated to the substance use disorder yet mimic the symptoms, contribute to substance use, and complicate the diagnostic picture — often the case for those struggling with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or older adults with cognitive decline, for example.

Participation in psychological assessment provides the patient an opportunity to develop a greater understanding of his/her cognitive and psychological functioning. Assessments may be followed by testing which helps identify areas of concern and target evidence-based interventions that will guide the treatment plan.

Psychological Testing (Military, Personality, Immigration)

To successfully treat patients and make informed aftercare recommendations, staff at Teachable Moments strive to understand the root causes of each patient’s symptoms to create a comprehensive treatment plan. In some cases, that may require psychological testing to clarify the diagnosis and better understand the relationship between substance use disorder and a patient’s mental and cognitive health.

Teachable Moments offers testing as part of our comprehensive treatment programming for adults and older adults. Psychological testing is available, by referral, to address specific diagnostic questions. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Comprehensive ADHD testing.

  • Neuropsychological testing to assess cognitive functioning and identify deficits.

  • Assessing personality characteristics and functioning.

  • Evaluating emotional health and well-being.

  • Accurately identifying psychiatric illnesses.

  • Identifying and suggesting evidence-based methods and treatments to address areas of concern

Participation in psychological testing provides the patient an opportunity to develop a greater understanding of his/her cognitive and psychological functioning. Most importantly, testing helps to identify areas of concern and target evidence-based interventions that will guide the treatment plan.
